School of Health Science
The School of Health Sciences offers programs in a variety of allied health professions designed to align with Canada’s rigorous health standards. Recognized internationally, College of the North Atlantic’s (CNA) Health Sciences curriculum is both current and innovative, looking to national and provincial guidelines for direction and oversight.
Program delivery models combine comprehensive class-room instruction with experiential learning and include high-fidelity simulation and relevant clinical placements. Therapeutic communication skills, professional and ethical behaviour and evidence-based practice are embedded throughout all programs.
This School engages with industry partners and employers to ensure the most relevant of professional practice, which, in turn, produces job-ready graduates. These essential allied health professionals meet identified human resource needs within the health care sector and provincial workforce.
Did you know? Programs, such as Personal Care Attendant and Primary Care Paramedicine, are currently in high demand within the provincial healthcare sector, with approximately 93 per cent of graduates employed in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador

Online Synchronous: Delivered fully online with live, scheduled videoconference classes. The instructor and the students in the course engage with the course content and each other at the same time, from different locations.
