Overview

The Registrar’s Office is a resource to assist students through their academic journey at CNA. The staff that works with the Registrar’s Office will help guide students through their questions, and offer the appropriate CNA contact for admissions, registration, scheduling, financial aid, academic advising, graduation and much more.

 

MyCreds

MyCreds™ | MesCertif™ is owned by the Association of Registrars of the Universities and Colleges of Canada (ARUCC). It is a national credential wallet for post-secondary learners that has been created by Canadian higher education leadership.

CNA is committed to embracing digital solutions and fully adopting sustainable practices as we transition from paper-based to digital. We are delighted to announce MyCreds.ca provides secure online credentials through a learner focused online portable wallet. Moving forward we will issue verified official documents, transcripts, diplomas, badges and microcredentials, securely, to our students through MyCreds.ca . For a video overview, please see here .

Admissions

Find out about CNA’s admission requirements and what you will need to present based on your academic background. Check the admission guidelines to see if you're eligible to apply. Learn about specific program requirements, English language requirements, transfer credit information, and important application dates and deadlines.
Entrance requirements for each program are set out in the program descriptions of each program on the College website. Students that are applying under the mature student clause may be considered on an individual basis as per the college's admissions procedures.

    Ready to be a CNA student? Applying is easy! Applying online takes about 15 minutes. To start, you’ll need:

    • $30 CDN application processing fee for domestic students and $100 CDN for international applicants, which you can pay online with a credit card.
    • Official or mid-year high school transcripts.

    After you apply: Next steps

    • We’ll email you to let you know we have received your application.
    • Some programs require additional supporting documentation. Refer to the specific program found under our Programs and Courses area for specific requirements related to your program of choice.
    • Your application is only complete when ALL documentation such as transcripts and/or other documents specific to the program entrance requirements are received.

  • Academic Schools

    CNA offers over 100 programs in 9 different areas of study organized in 5 Schools throughout Newfoundland and Labrador. The Schools are: 1) Academics, Applied Arts + Tourism, 2) Business + Information Technology, 3) Engineering Technology, 4) Health Sciences, and 5) Natural Resources + Industrial Trades.

  • Continuing Education

    Continuing Education courses and certificate programs are offered on a part-time basis through evening, daytime or through distance education. Learners enrolling in a certificate program have the convenience of studying part-time while maintaining current employment.

  • Prior Learning Assessment

    Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) is a process that allows students to demonstrate prior learning to possibly receive credit towards a post-secondary course. Enrolled students will be given every opportunity to receive credit for past learning experience through a comprehensive systematic process of evaluation referred to as Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition. Students must initiate PLAR requests within one (1) week of the semester start date.

Registration

Once you are a CNA student you can register for your classes through MyCNA . Registration is the process of choosing and enrolling in courses as well as dropping courses or making other changes.  It all starts with you knowing your registration deadlines.

Prior to the registration period, program students who have been accepted and have confirmed their seat will receive email notification from the college prompting them to register.
