College of the North Atlantic, with financial support from Jobs, Growth and Rural Development, is offering ESL Level I at no-cost for 12-weeks.  
 
ESL Level I focuses on academic language use and includes topics related to college level courses and programs. This program is designed for newcomers who wish to improve their English skills with the intention of pursuing college level education and/or pursuing employment.  ESL Level I is open to learners with a language proficiency of Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 6, CEFR B1, or the equivalent*(refer to the Admission Requirements tab), on a recognized test of English language proficiency.  Free placement testing is available through CNA.

Eligible participants must fulfill the following entrance requirements:  
1. Must be a newcomer.
2. Must meet the English proficiency requirements listed below.
