The VOCM Cares Foundation has renewed the Paul Magee Memorial Award with a commitment of $12,500 over five years with College of the North Atlantic (CNA). The award was originally intended for three years, and the renewal brings the eight-year contribution to a value of $20,000.

“The scholarship was established to honor the memory of Paul Magee, a valued employee of Steele Communications and an outstanding community leader,” says John Steele, president of Steele Communications.

The award was established by the VOCM Cares Foundation which is mandated to raise funds for charitable causes involving the health, education and safety of children. Valued at $2,500, the annual award will be presented to one learner in a certificate or diploma-level program who demonstrates academic excellence, leadership and community involvement. The award is open to all full-time students at any of the college’s 17 campuses.

“We are very grateful to the VOCM Cares Foundation for renewing their support of the Paul Magee Achievement Award,” says Sonya Smith, manager of Alumni and Advancement at CNA. “Their generosity will help deserving college students achieve their educational goals.”
