College of the North Atlantic (CNA) and the Building and Construction School of Greenland (BCS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) today, which will see the institutions explore various oil and gas training possibilities over the next five years.

“The signing of today’s MOU provides College of the North Atlantic with the ability to better understand the needs of our new partners,” said Ann Marie Vaughan, CNA’s President and CEO. “Over the past year we have engaged in several discussions surrounding educational opportunities, however today’s milestone signing allows us to work on the details of what could be most beneficial to our partners.”

The BCS is interested in exploring program possibilities in the areas of oil and gas and safety training for that industry.

“This is a great day for the Building and Construction School of Greenland,” said General Manager, Hans Hinrichsen. “By signing this MOU with CNA we feel we are in the very good hands of a highly recognized institution of education, helping us navigate into a new oil and gas industry in Greenland. We share water and harsh conditions so we trust CNA to guide us in the training and education of Greenlanders.”

“We are very familiar with the process of working with and meeting the training needs of our partners,” said Vaughan. “The college works closely with the operators in the offshore industry to ensure our programs addresses the needs and the wants of the industry. It is through our responsiveness to industry and diligence to deliver the skills required that we have achieved recognition globally for our programs in the oil and gas field. We are confident we can have the same success with our new partners.”
