College of the North Atlantic (CNA) is now one of a host of Canadian colleges and universities participating in Project Hero, a scholarship program established to help dependants of Canadian Forces members who lost their lives during an international assignment.
Project Hero scholarships will be awarded by the college from September 2010 through to August 2015 to those who qualify and are accepted as full-time students in a diploma or certificate program offered at CNA.
“The college is proud to assist the families of Canadian Forces members who have given so much for our country,” says Jean Madill, President of CNA. “This program is a way of saying thank-you, and to ensure their family members have an opportunity to receive an education after suffering the loss of a loved one.”
Students receiving the scholarship will have their tuition waived for the normal duration of their chosen program.
Project Hero was founded by retired Canadian General Rick Hillier and Kevin Reed, the Honorary Lieutenant-Colonel of the 31st Brigade, Service Units and Chairman of Equity Transfer and Trust Company.
