CNA launches new website

Students returning to College of the North Atlantic (CNA) came back to a new year, a new semester and a new look and feel to the college’s website.

Stephen Lee, CNA’s manager of marketing and communications, says returning students and those thinking about attending CNA will not only find the site more visually appealing, but also more informative and easier to navigate.

“There are a lot of new features that have been added that students will find helpful,” says Lee. “We’ve made the site mobile-friendly, and have better organized the information our site visitors access most frequently. But what most will notice right away is the improved aesthetics – the site looks great.”

Visitors will notice the number of direct entry points off the home page and numerous large graphical links to highlight frequently accessed pages or information potential students are seeking. But the changes inside are likely as important as any of the homepage improvements.

“We’ve done some really neat things within the site,” says Lee. “For instance, when potential students go to the alphabetical listing of college programs they are able to not only view program information, but if there is a video associated with the program, the YouTube link is attached so they don’t have to leave that page to see the video. Once done there, they can click the Apply tab to the right of the program name and apply online… essentially they can do their research and apply all from one page now.”

There have also been additional improvements that won’t be apparent to visitors that Lee says will assist the college in providing the most user-friendly experience to potential students who access the site.

“We’ve implemented Google Analytics on every page, which is something we didn’t have on the old site, and this gives us the ability to track what pages people are visiting and for how long. We can also see the route they took navigating through our site to access the information they need. We hope to use this information to be able to continue to improve navigation and perhaps even link some of the most accessed information directly from the homepage.”

Lee says since the new site went live a few days ago they have received lots of feedback and are already using that to make more improvements.

“The new site is certainly a big improvement over the old, but we know it’s far from perfect,” he says. “We will continue to make changes and add new features as they become available. We want visitors to enjoy their experience on our site and find the information they need as quickly and as easily as possible.”
