CORNER BROOK, NL — It’s back, and promises to be even better than ever!

College of the North Atlantic (CNA) will be opening its doors on Wednesday, November 23 to prospective students after a three-year hiatus.

Ashley Buckle, Manager of Student Recruitment, says they are happy to be welcoming people (students, guardians and the general public) in person this year for the college’s annual Open House event.

“We want everyone to come and see what CNA is all about,” she said. “Each of our campuses is so unique in location and programming, that no two experiences are the same; yet there’s something for everyone to learn about and experience.”

Buckle says the Open House is a great way to learn more about CNA programs and services.

“It’s not only about interested students coming to see what their life would be like at CNA; we’re also encouraging folks who just want to learn more about the innovative and advanced things the college has and does,” she said. “If you’re not sure of what you want to do in life, this is the perfect opportunity to see the wide variety of programs we offer. You never know what might catch your interest!”

One of the benefits of attending the Open House is it allows visitors to chat with CNA staff and faculty.

“CNA is full of possibilities and opportunities,” said Buckle. “There are many campuses, programs, and so much hands-on learning that CNA really is as our tagline says: ‘College … Your Way’,” she said. “The best way to see everything is to come explore and chat to our amazing campus staff. Who knows? You might even get to meet a future instructor or classmate, an executive member, or even the president!”

Jeff Martin, CNA’s Director of Student Experience, says Open House enables visitors to visualize their post-secondary academic journey and see first-hand how the college can support their dreams.

“We know students have all kinds of questions and concerns when it comes to choosing the program that’s right for them,” he noted. “We have a wide variety of student supports in place to help make their academic experience as successful as possible. We know the transition from high school, or even a workplace, to college can be as stressful as it is exciting. We want their journey toward graduation to be all they hoped for and more.”

Students who register and attend the Open House will be entered to win one of six iPad Airs. And, for prospective students who attend the in-person or virtual events, and apply for a program before Friday, November 25 at 8 A.M., they will be entered for a chance to win a CNA tuition voucher for one semester.

The Open House will be held at 16 campuses throughout Newfoundland and Labrador in person on Wednesday, Nov. 23 (9 a.m. to 3 p.m. NST for high schools; 6-8 p.m. NST for the general public). If you can’t visit a campus, don’t worry, a virtual session is planned for Thursday, Nov. 24 from 6-8 p.m. (NST).
