Minister Announces Approximately $4.3 Million in Funding for Corner Brook campus

The Honourable Gerry Byrne, Minister of Advanced Education, Skills and Labour joined Gudie Hutchings, Member of Parliament for Long Range Mountains at College of the North Atlantic in Corner Brook today to announce more than $4.3 million for the college’s Centre for Energy and Thermal Systems and campus upgrades.

Through this joint federal-provincial investment, more than $2.1 million comes from the Federal Government as part of the Post-Secondary Institutions Strategic Investment Fund, with the remaining funds matched by the Provincial Government.

The funding will support the Centre for Energy and Thermal Systems, encompassing a suite of activities in education and training. Current programming related to energy and thermal systems will be enhanced and new programming will be introduced in engineering technology, the industrial trades and advanced studies.

The Federal Government's $2 billion Post-Secondary Institutions Strategic Investment Fund is improving research and innovation infrastructure at universities and colleges across the country, including Memorial University and College of the North Atlantic, with investments totaling more than $85 million.
