Duties and Responsibilities

The Clerk Typist III provides essential clerical and administrative front-line support to the College of the North Atlantic's Corner Brook Campus. The wide range of duties that ensure efficient campus operations and excellent service delivery include:

  • Acting as the first point of contact for students, staff, and the public by providing front desk support, answering questions in person, by phone, or email, and directing inquiries to the appropriate department.
  • Organizing, maintaining, and updating physical and electronic filing systems to ensure records are accurate, secure, and easily accessible.
  • Coordinate meeting schedules and prepare, record, and distribute meeting minutes and related documentation.
  • Managing and updating student application and registration forms; and preparing files and invoices for Customized and Continuous Learning (CCL).
  • Providing guidance and support to students throughout the application and registration process; and responding to inquiries via telephone, email and in-person, regarding admissions, programs, and deadlines.
  • Utilizing the Microsoft Office Suite for document preparation, data tracking, and communication; and operating within the PeopleSoft system to input, update, and extract student data related to applications, enrollments, and course registration.
  • Compiling and submitting statistical reports related to student enrollment, registration, and programs, when required.
  • Gathering and confirming details for requests related to student registrations, program capacities and waitlist status.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned, contributing to the overall efficiency and success of the Student Services department. 

Screening Criteria

  • Diploma in Office Administration (equivalencies will be considered). 
  • Recent, relevant experience in delivering front-line administrative and clerical support services to clients or the general public.

  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
