Duties and Responsibilities
The Audio Visual Specialist provides end-to-end audio-visual services to support organizational operations, events, and learning environments for the Prince Philip Drive, Ridge Road and Seal Cove campuses. This role delivers technical support for computer-based training spaces, video conferencing systems, and multimedia equipment, while producing high-quality video and photography content. The Specialist also leads user training and contributes to the development of web content to enhance the organization's digital and multimedia presence.
- Coordinate Audio-Visual Services
Plan, schedule, and deliver audio-visual support for events, training sessions, and organizational activities. - Technical Support and Troubleshooting
Install, maintain, and support AV equipment in classrooms, meeting rooms, and training spaces, including projectors, sound systems, video conferencing tools, and interactive displays. Provide timely troubleshooting to minimize disruptions and prepare digital media for presentations and instructional use. - Video Conferencing Management
Coordinate, administer, and monitor video conferencing sessions to ensure seamless delivery. Perform routine maintenance and repairs on conferencing equipment. - Video Production
Capture, edit, and distribute video content for training, communications, and promotional purposes. - Audio Services
Set up and manage audio systems for presentations, events, and functions, ensuring optimal sound quality. - Video and Photography Services
Produce and edit video and photographic content for instructional, promotional, and event-related needs. Support the design and development of web pages to enhance digital communications. - Training and User Support
Deliver training and develop resources to support faculty, staff, and students in the effective use of AV and multimedia technologies. Promote best practices for equipment use. - Inventory Control and Procurement
Maintain accurate inventory of AV equipment and coordinate procurement to ensure availability, reliability, and lifecycle management.
Screening Criteria
- Diploma in Audio and Video Technology, Information Technology, or a related field (equivalencies will be considered).
- Relevant and recent experience providing audio and video services and supports.
Assessment Criteria
- Knowledge of the operation, setup, and routine maintenance of audio-visual equipment, including smart classroom technology.
- Knowledge of audio-visual services and support in classroom or meeting environments
- Ability to effectively exchange information.

- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
Conditions of Offer
- When requested by the Employer, a recent and satisfactory Certificate of Conduct must be provided.
- Verification of credentials and applicable licenses, certifications, and/or professional memberships as required for the position.
Conditions of Acceptance
- Lifting or moving objects over 20 lbs., is required occasionally for such tasks as carrying audio visual equipment.
- Travel between the Prince Philip Drive, Topsail Road, Seal Cove and Ridge Road campuses to perform duties.
