Salary Information
HL25 - $88,197.00 - $114,655.46 per annum.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership to ensure aviation programs and curriculum remain current, innovative, and aligned with emerging technologies and industry best practices.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key aviation industry stakeholders to support program relevance, workforce planning, and ongoing professional development.
- Lead the review, development, and continuous improvement of operational, instructional, and safety procedures.
- Oversee operational planning to ensure timely access to required aircraft parts, materials, and external services essential to program delivery.
- Ensure the effective recruitment, assignment, and oversight of qualified instructional and support personnel.
- Monitor and evaluate program performance to ensure instructional quality, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement.
- Provide oversight for the stewardship, upkeep, and maintenance of aviation facilities, assets, capital equipment, aircraft components, ground support equipment, and training aids.
- Ensure all faculty and instructional staff maintain valid certifications and licenses in accordance with Transport Canada requirements.
- Assess and ensure the adequacy of facilities, equipment, tools, and learning resources to support training program needs.
- Ensure aviation programs maintain accreditation standards and regulatory compliance with Transport Canada and EASA.
- Provide leadership in human resource and financial management functions, including budgeting, workforce planning, recruitment, performance management, discipline, scheduling, and allocation of instructional and material resources.
- Perform other related managerial and operational duties as required in support of aviation programming objectives.
Screening Criteria
- Valid Canadian Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) license.
- A minimum of six years experience in the maintenance of aircraft, and a knowledge of maintenance training, development and delivery.
- Experience related to aircraft programming, aviation operations, or regulated aviation environments.
- Experience working with regulatory and compliance bodies, such as Transport Canada, EASA, or comparable regulatory authorities.
- Experience managing people, budgets, and operational resources.
- EASA Certification in collaboration with an EASA Surveyor and a Transport Canada Inspector (asset).
- An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
