Salary Information

CG29 - $50,250.20 - $55,819.40 per annum

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Financial tracking and monitoring: monitor and track the College's financial performance on an ongoing basis by reviewing expenditures, revenues, and variances. 
  • Account analysis: perform detailed analysis of accounts to identify discrepancies, variances, or areas requiring corrective action; and prepare reconciliations and ensure that all financial data is accurate, complete, and in compliance with College policies and accounting standards.
  • Financial reporting: prepare and complete quarterly financial reports, summarizing key financial activities, trends, and results for senior management; and support the preparation of annual financial statements and other reports as required for regulatory or internal purposes.
  • Support management and auditors: Provide financial reports, documentation, and other forms of support to managers, directors, and other related parties as required. Respond to inquiries, clarify financial information, and assist in ensuring transparency and accountability in all financial matters.
  • Process invoice requests and manage corporate refund transactions.
  • Other related duties: perform other related accounting and financial tasks as assigned. 

Screening Criteria

  • A Diploma in Business Administration (Accounting focus) - equivalencies will be considered.
  • Experience performing a variety of accounting functions.

     

Assessment Criteria

  • Knowledge of accounting activities and practices.
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Knowledge of accounting systems and software, including spreadsheets.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage time and tasks effectively.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Ability to exchange information effectively.
  • Professionalism.
  • Relationship building skills.
