Salary Information
CG19 - $37,965.20 - $40,968.20 per annum.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Utility Worker I is an essential member of the team, responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment in a regulated child care centre. This role supports staff while ensuring compliance with provincial Child Care Act, regulations, and sanitation standards.
- Perform janitorial duties in a regulated child are centre ensuring compliance with the provincial Child Care Act, Regulations, Policies, Standards & Government Modernization and Service Delivery requirements.
- Clean and maintain the interior and exterior of the facility, including homerooms, staff/student rooms, observation room, washrooms, and kitchen areas.
- Receive and stock centre and washroom supplies, ensuring proper handling and storage.
- Manage laundry, garbage disposal, sanitation and contamination control procedures.
- Apply knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Guidelines in all aspects of work.
- Other related tasks and duties may be required.
Screening Criteria
- Completion of high school.
- Experience in janitorial duties.
- Experience in sanitation best practices.
Assessment Criteria
- Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation practices.
- Knowledge of receiving stock and tracking inventory (asset).
- Ability to effectively exchange information.
- Ability to manage time and tasks.
- Ability to take initiative.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
Conditions of Offer
- Current Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check (RNC/RCMP).
- Current First Aid Certificate.
- Immunization Record or Statement of Immunization.
- Verification of credentials and certifications, as required for the position.
Conditions of Acceptance
- Heavy lifting will be required.
