Salary Information

CG31 - $28.86 - $32.07 per hour.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, and deliver a variety of student services and activities of a non-academic nature for prospective students, current students, and graduate students for College of the North Atlantic’s Bonavista Campus.
  • Engage students and oversee all student life activity on campus.
  • Coordinate student events (ie. Orientation).
  • Promote College programs regionally.
  • Provide support to student council.
  • Organize campus tours for various groups.
  • Take the lead role on various campus committees (ie. Scholarship, graduation, etc).
  • Take a lead role in student recruitment initiatives.
  • Assist with community outreach/engagement through special events, programs, promotional activities, and encourage student leadership and participation in such events.
  • Liaise with high schools.
  • Provide assistance to students and/or graduates on matters related to employment opportunities.
  • Coordinate peer tutoring.
  • Provide support, guidance, and advocate for students and faculty in all aspects of student life (ie. Student post-secondary transition, student aid, accommodations, student appeals, scholarships, awards, etc).
  • Other duties as required.

 

Screening Criteria

  • Diploma in Business Administration/Management, Community Leadership Recreation or Development, or related (equivalencies will be considered).
  • Experience coordinating programs, initiatives, or activities that focuses on participant engagement.

Assessment Criteria

  • Knowledge of student engagement initiatives and strategies.
  • Awareness of student recruitment strategies and approaches to community engagement.
  • Commitment to improving the student experience.
  • Effective Communications.
  • Organizational/time management skills.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Relationship building.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
