Salary Information
Salary will be determined in accordance with the Faculty Collective Agreement, based on the candidate's education and experience.
Duties and Responsibilities
- The Coordinating Instructor provides leadership and support to the instructional team and students enrolled in the Practical Nursing program at College of the North Atlantic’s campuses where the program is offered. Works in partnership with faculty, campus administration, the Health Sciences Dean’s Office, the Centre for Nursing Studies, and Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services to ensure the delivery of quality programming, clinical placements and services to students.
- Oversee teaching assignments, classroom/lab allocation, and exam scheduling in collaboration with Campus Administration and other staff/faculty.
- Teaching students may be required.
- Advise on program regulations, exemptions, credit transfers, and academic progress while directing students to appropriate resources.
- Liaise with the Centre for Nursing Studies (CNS) on course materials, program policies, and quality assurance.
- Chair the PN Admission Committee, assess applications, review student transcripts, and determine academic progress.
- Coordinate faculty orientation, mentorship, and professional development initiatives.
- Monitor clinical clearances, collaborate with stakeholders to ensure placements, and mitigate scheduling challenges.
- Develop and track learning plans, provide academic support, and intervene as needed in clinical courses.
- Develop reports, maintain statistics, participate in advisory committees, and assist with program planning.
- Promote interprofessional education, liaise with internal/external partners, and advocate for program enhancements.
- Travel will be required for multi-campus coverage, and adherence to program regulations is expected.
- Other related duties consistent with providing and maintaining quality student-centered instruction will be required.
Screening Criteria
- Bachelor of Nursing Degree (BN or BScN).
- Graduate degree.
- Five years of recent relevant experience in nursing.

- Must be eligible for, and have, an active practicing license with the College of Registered Nurses Newfoundland and Labrador (CRNNL) prior to commencing employment.
