Salary Information

HL28 - $92,067.00 - $119,687.27 per annum.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the effective and efficient operation of College of the North Atlantic’s Ridge Road Campus.
  • Overseeing the delivery of academic programming to students, and associated operational, administrative, emergency response, and student support services.
  • Overseeing the implementation, delivery, evaluation, and quality assurance of academic programs, as well as ensuring adherence to course curriculum.
  • Attracting and retaining staff and faculty.
  • Overseeing the ongoing performance management of staff and faculty.
  • Overseeing operational and administrative functions that effectively support students, staff, and faculty.
  • Managing campus resources, including financial, human resources, facilities, and assets, and ensuring budgets are managed responsibly.
  • Actively engaging with the broader community and supporting community-based initiatives; actively marketing and promoting the college and campus within the community, positioning the college as an education institution and employer of choice.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective and collaborative work relationships with a wide range of external stakeholders.
  • Supporting School Deans in working with specific industries and services to develop programs that will meet regional and provincial labour needs.
  • Identifying opportunities for contracts, funding grants, and partnerships to advance innovative approaches to support student success.
  • Resolving student and faculty issues and concerns as they arise.
  • Contributing to the college’s vision and strategic planning efforts by identifying evolving program needs and contributing to program design and development; and ensuring the accreditation process for programs on campus is monitored and maintained.
  • Ensuring a positive student experience, contributing to student academic progress and, ultimately, student retention at Ridge Road Campus.

Screening Criteria

  • Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field, supplemented by increasingly responsible academic and administrative leadership experience in a post-secondary environment.
  • Consideration may be given to those candidates who possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Education (Post-Secondary) or relevant undergraduate degree with extensive academic and administrative leadership experience in a post-secondary environment.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Assessment Criteria

  • Knowledge of Operational and Administrative Functions.
  • Ability to provide Leadership, Vision and Innovation which support the Colleges strategic goals.
  • Ability to oversee and manage academic programming and associated services.
  • Ability to handle Emergency Response and Student Support Services.
  • Ability to effectively manage and provide guidance, direction and support to student & employee issues and concerns.
  • Ability to develop partnerships that focus on Community Engagement and Marketing.
  • Ability to build and maintain external stakeholder relationships.
  • Knowledge of Program Development and Innovation.
  • Ability to contribute to Strategic Planning and Accreditation processes.
