Salary Information

CG20 - $ 20.84 - $ 22.61 per hour.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform standardized food services work for College of the North Atlantic’s Bay St. George Campus Cafeteria and ancillary operations.
  • Order, receive, prepare, and serve beverages, snacks, and meals.
  • Reheat and serve meals.
  • Clean and sanitize work stations and other food service areas including the kitchen and cafeteria.
  • Replenish stock as needed.
  • Clean and sanitize dishes, utensils and other related kitchen equipment.
  • Operate a computerized cash register.
  • Assist with preparation work in the kitchen.
  • Other duties as it relates to food service may be required.
  • May require periods of kneeling, bending, walking and standing, which may result in fatigue; lifting and moving of objects; and occasionally using machinery and equipment.
  • Shift work and weekend work is required.

Screening Criteria

  • Graduation from high school.
  • Relevant experience working in an institutional and/or industrial kitchen.

Assessment Criteria

  • Knowledge of the food service industry including food safety and sanitation.
  • Knowledge of a computerized cash register/system.
  • Customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Organizational/time management skill.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Work effectively as part of a team.
  • Communication skills.
