Salary Information
CG20 - $ 20.84 - $ 22.61 per hour.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform standardized food services work for College of the North Atlantic’s Bay St. George Campus Cafeteria and ancillary operations.
- Order, receive, prepare, and serve beverages, snacks, and meals.
- Reheat and serve meals.
- Clean and sanitize work stations and other food service areas including the kitchen and cafeteria.
- Replenish stock as needed.
- Clean and sanitize dishes, utensils and other related kitchen equipment.
- Operate a computerized cash register.
- Assist with preparation work in the kitchen.
- Other duties as it relates to food service may be required.
- May require periods of kneeling, bending, walking and standing, which may result in fatigue; lifting and moving of objects; and occasionally using machinery and equipment.
- Shift work and weekend work is required.
Screening Criteria
- Graduation from high school.
- Relevant experience working in an institutional and/or industrial kitchen.
Assessment Criteria
- Knowledge of the food service industry including food safety and sanitation.
- Knowledge of a computerized cash register/system.
- Customer service skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Organizational/time management skill.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Work effectively as part of a team.
- Communication skills.
