Salary Information

Salary will be determined in accordance with the Faculty Collective Agreement, based on the candidate's education and experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for instructing courses to students enrolled in a variety of programs.
  • Plan and deliver course objectives.
  • Evaluate and assess student learning.
  • Organize and manage instructional materials and the learning environment.
  • Provide academic advice to learners relating to their programs and courses.
  • Conduct accreditation reviews.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Screening Criteria

  • Master’s degree with a major in Physics.
  • B.Ed. - Secondary or Post-Secondary (asset).
  • Ph.D. in the subject area to be taught (asset).
  • Recent relevant work experience. Teaching experience at the post-secondary level (asset).

Assessment Criteria

  • Knowledgeable of the fundamentals of Physics.
  • Understanding of classroom management and instructional techniques currently being utilized in a teaching and learning environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Organizational and time management skills with the ability to plan, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills with an ability to consider and respond appropriately to the needs of students.
  • Proficiency and/or a willingness to embrace teaching and learning technologies to support the student learning experience.
  • Ability to build and maintain productive working relationships with other faculty and staff.
  • Commitment to teaching excellence and to supporting and delivering a positive student learning experience.

  • When requested by the Employer, a recent and satisfactory Certificate of Conduct must be provided.
  • Verification of credentials and applicable licenses, certifications, and/or professional memberships as required for the position.
    • Credentials obtained outside of Canada will require an evaluation to determine their Canadian educational equivalency. This evaluation must support the educational requirements for the position.
