Salary Information

Salary will be determined in accordance with the Faculty Collective Agreement, based on the candidate's education and experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • This position will create comprehensive, engaging, and current curriculum materials for the Veterinary Technician program.
  • Research current trends, regulations, and best practices in veterinary technician practice and education.
  • Develop course outlines, lesson plans, learning objectives, and assessment tools aligned with program goals and industry standards, employing learning theories.
  • Create instructional materials to accompany course outlines.
  • Review curriculum materials for relevance, alignment with national competency framework, and compliance with accreditation requirements.
  • Participate in curriculum meetings and quality assurance initiatives with college personnel.
  • Other related duties as required.

 

Screening Criteria

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine.
  • 3 years of Veterinary experience.

Assessment Criteria

  • Knowledge of the subject area being developed (Veterinary Technician), including key concepts and best practices.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance practices.
  • Ability to manage time and tasks.
  • Ability to exchange information effectively.
  • Ability to gather, analyze, and apply relevant research to inform decision making.
  • Collaboration skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Creativity.

Conditions of Offer

  • When requested by the Employer, a recent and satisfactory Certificate of Conduct must be provided.
  • Verification of credentials and applicable licenses, certifications, and/or professional memberships as required for the position.
    • Credentials obtained outside of Canada will require an evaluation to determine their Canadian educational equivalency. This evaluation must support the educational requirements for the position.
  • Must be eligible for, and have, an active provincial registration with the Newfoundland & Labrador Veterinary College prior to commencing employment.
