Why I love my job at CNA?
Its been a year and 3 months at CNA as an SDO on the PPD campus. People often ask me how the job is and if I am happy. I always tell them that I am not just happy but content, satisfied with my job. I cherish my job, Monday to Friday.
I have been helping students over the years and this job as a Student Development Officer was perfect for me. I am a peoples'person so I love meeting students, staff and parents. Love to hear their stories and learn about the culture. I am so proud that I work in a college that supports diversity, inclusivity and respects every person in the college.
The other SDO, who is my coworker, is very easy to get along, helpful, supportive and loves my Indian Culture and food. The campus directors are the best. They are easy to get along and very accessible even with their busy schedule. The other support staff and faculty are very friendly and ready to help. They facilitate camaraderie through team building activities, after work social events and forming various clubs. This makes me feel upbeat at the end of the day and working hours tend to pass faster.
The important part of loving my job is that it interests and challenges me, and it makes me more engaged and fulfilled. I am treated with respect, given daily encouragement and valued for what I bring to the college. This job aligns with my interests and values, leading to a strong desire to continue working. I love to gain knowledge so my exposure to all the incredible minds I work with has been absolutely intoxicating for me. I feel my job is a partnership. I contribute to the organization and the organization contributes beyond the paycheque.
My job excites me to wake up in the morning and come to work. I love the chatters, the smiles, the laughter, the whispers, smell of food in the corridors of the college. For me every day is different, challenging and exciting. No two days are the same. My job gives me an opportunity to have a positive impact on peoples lives and make a difference every day.
I belong here and I am CONTENT with my job as an SDO!
