Serving excellence.
Are you a people-oriented individual with a passion for thriving in a fast-paced environment? The Tourism & Hospitality Services program is your entry into one of Newfoundland and Labrador's fastest-growing industries, one that employs over 20,000 people provincially,
[1] contributes to the national economy, and connects to the global tourism sector.
In one year, full- or part-time, you will build a solid foundation across five areas of tourism: accommodations, food and beverage, recreation and entertainment, transportation, and travel services. The program emphasizes sustainability, cultural inclusion and experiential learning to prepare you for the realities of working in a diverse, people-first sector.
Through courses in customer service, food and beverage operations, tourism destinations, sustainable tourism, digital tourism and entrepreneurship, you'll graduate with the practical skills and professional certifications employers value. Your learning culminates in a six-week field placement where you gain real-world experience in a live tourism setting.
This certificate is also a stepping stone. Upon completion, you can continue into the second year of the Tourism & Hospitality Management diploma, meaning your one year of work counts toward a two-year credential.
