American Sign Language 1 (ASL)

The American Sign Language 1 (ASL) course is designed to introduce participants to ASL. Concepts discussed relate to people, places, and things within the immediate environment. In this course, participants learn to handle basic, everyday communication including introducing oneself and exchanging personal information. A "no-voice" teaching method is used to reinforce the learning experience. Participants learn through classroom instruction and role-play. (20 Hours)

Spanish Conversation Beginner I

In this course, you will have the opportunity to improve your Spanish language speaking and listening skills in a conversational setting at the A1 (beginner) level. Spanish grammar will be incorporated into the speaking and listening components throughout the course. In pairs and small groups, you will engage in small discussions about a variety of topics. You will also learn how to use appropriate stress, rhythm, and intonation to convey meaning, and produce utterances which are accurate as well as fluent, with regards to the topics covered, while using situationally appropriate language in order to communicate. (25 Hours)
