Duties and Responsibilities
The Word Processing Equipment Operator I (WPEO) will provide a wide range of administrative support services to the School of Business and Information Technology:
- Front-line reception: act as the first point of contact by greeting visitors, answering calls and emails, and directing inquiries; and offer information on programs and services while maintaining a professional office environment.
- Clerical support: prepare and proofread documents and correspondence; maintain electronic and paper filing systems; and process mail and perform photocopying and scanning tasks.
- Data entry: update and maintain student and course records; and assist with entering grades, scheduling, and exam coordination.
- Support Instructional Coordinators: assist with scheduling, course materials, and exams; assist with organizing meetings; and order supplies.
- Other duties as assigned: perform any related tasks necessary to ensure smooth day-to-day operations of the office.
Screening Criteria
- Diploma in Office Administration (equivalencies to be considered).
- Experience providing a range of administrative support services in an office environment.
Assessment Criteria
- Knowledge of general administrative practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of computer applications (MS Office Suite).
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Ability to exchange information effectively.
- Organizational/time management skills.
- Professionalism.
- Relationship building skills.
