Dr. Gregory Dalton, P. Eng

Dr. Dalton joined CNA’s Engineering Technology Faculty in 2015 after 25 years of industrial research and development. Greg received his Bachelors and Masters degrees in Mechanical Engineering from University of Waterloo and his PhD in Natural Resource Engineering from Laurentian University in Sudbury Ontario. He founded the Metal Forming Research Group at the Industrial Research Development Institute in Midland, Ontario, serving automotive manufacturers, steel and aluminum producers, and lubricant formulators. Greg went on to found his own company performing research for the automotive industry on fuel efficiency and alternative manufacturing processes.

Greg has numerous peer-reviewed publications, is a past vice-chair of ASTM G02 committee on Wear and Erosion, and holds a US patent: System and method used in design, production and operation of metal forming tools.

His current research focus is in condition monitoring for predictive maintenance of equipment using both sensor data and advanced lubricant and wear analysis techniques.
