This course introduces students to current trends and the healthcare and the expectations of a rapidly evolving clinical environment. Students will learn the legal considerations, professionalism, patient care, teamwork and interprofessional skills pertaining to the clinical practicum. Emphasis will be placed on preparing students for their practicum experience. Students will study the aspects of the personal, operational, and behavioral issues that influence communication with patients and professionals. This course will help students develop interprofessional communication skills and understand the patient’s perspective by introducing patient as care partners to enhance the clinical experience.
