Memorial University and College of the North Atlantic (CNA) are again teaming up to host the 25th annual Career and Graduate School Fair.

Employers, organizations, government agencies and post-secondary institutions will be at the Field House on Memorial University’s St. John’s Campus on Wednesday, Sept. 25, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. More than 110 local, national and international exhibitors will be in attendance. Admission is free and attendees are reminded that they are required to show ID at the door.

Students and alumni are invited to network with local, national and international organizations and industry leaders, who can, in turn, recruit attendees from two of the province’s public post-secondary institutions.

CNA and Memorial University have collaborated on this initiative since 2017, to offer a comprehensive career and graduate school event for students and alumni that also provides them a direct connection with exhibitors to discuss their employment and education needs, or help with career direction.

This year also marks the 25th anniversary of the Career and Graduate School Fair. Back on Oct. 4, 2000, approximately 200 students made their way over to the Holiday Inn to speak with 10-15 vendors who were mostly in the oil and gas industry. Twenty-five years later, students are able to get their LinkedIn photo taken on site and scan a QR code to learn about many of the 110+ exhibitors in a variety of industries around the world.

Jeff Martin, AVP Student Services (Acting) at CNA, says this year’s Career and Graduate School Fair is yet another exciting opportunity for the college to partner with Memorial University and demonstrate what this next generation of students has to offer.

"This event presents an invaluable opportunity for students and graduates to network with industry professionals and explore paths for further education. It's also a win for exhibitors, who get a full day to engage with the next generation of talent and showcase their expertise and career openings. We're thrilled to be part of this annual event with Memorial once again and eager to hear the success stories that emerge from it."

Dr. Jennifer Browne, director, Student Life, at Memorial, says the fair is a great opportunity for students and alumni, of all disciplines, to network and make valuable career connections with employers and professional schools.

“There are opportunities available for students in all programs. They can connect with exhibitors about new graduate positions, summer employment, co-op placements and graduate programs,” said Dr. Browne. “All exhibitors are interested in talking to and recruiting Memorial University and CNA students and alumni. I encourage students and alumni to invest in their future and drop by to meet the numerous recruiters visiting campus.”
