Second year Office Administration students from the Corner Brook campus were busy in the fall, supporting two charitable causes. The students are seen here being congratulated by Judy Bond, Service Center Coordinator for the Canadian Red Cross in Western Newfoundland.
Second year Office Administration students raised $906 for the Canadian Red Cross’s Walk for Humanity in October 2011.
The monies raised are used to provide healthcare equipment so that people can live independent lives in the comfort of their home and to provide people with shelter, clothing and personal services when they are affected by a house fire or flood. Some of the monies will also go toward the PFD Loan program, which ensures that people are safe when they are out on or near the water.
In November 2011, the students assembled 50 boxes for Operation Christmas Child. These boxes were sent to either East Africa or Haiti.
