Hynes wins Skills Canada competition

Eric Hynes of Stephenville is the winner of the 2001 Skills Canada Culinary Arts competition.

April 24, 2001 - Eric Hynes of Stephenville, an apprenticeship student of College of the North Atlantic’s commercial cooking program, Bay St. George campus, is the winner of this year’s Skills Canada Culinary Arts competition.

Hynes edged out Tony Trask of St. John’s who is a commercial cooking student at the Prince Philip Drive campus of the college.

Hynes will now go on to Edmonton to represent the province at the Skills Canada Run-off competition. He is working at the Northern Lights Inn in L’anse au Clair for the summer tourist season.
