Robyn Butt (middle), winner of a custom CNA snowboard and $200 gift certificate at SportChek, accepts her prizes from Student Development Officer and CNA Winter Crew member, Marina MacNeil, and CNA’s mascot, Nanuk.

With winter wrapping up and the College of the North Atlantic (CNA) Winter Crew hanging up their gear, it’s time to announce the winners of the season-long contest!

The grand prize winner of the custom CNA snowboard, and SportChek gift certificate valued at $200, is Robyn Butt of Mount Moriah.

The CNA Winter Crew, along with CNA’s mascot, Nanuk, attended events all over Newfoundland and Labrador handing out prizes at winter carnivals, skating parties, park days and festivals. Those who didn’t make it to the events still had a chance to win CNA prizes by entering the contest online.

Butt, a graduate of CNA's Business Administration program, says she often checks the CNA website and stumbled onto the winter crew page where she entered her name in the draw.

“Actually, I cannot remember when I entered the contest, but I do know that from time to time I check the website. On the CNA homepage they had the Winter Crew contest displayed so I decided to check it out.

“I never thought much more of it until I received a phone call from College of the North Atlantic headquarters congratulating me on winning the grand prize. I felt great about winning the grand prize and am really looking forward to it.”

Other contest winners are Mildred Butler from St. John’s, Nicole Brown of Corner Brook, Andrea Lane of Grand Falls-Windsor, Aaron Ward of Goose Bay and Marcel Rains of Nanaimo, British Columbia.

These winners will receive CNA grab bags filled with some great CNA gear such as MP3 players, fleece blankets, tote bags, polar bear hats, scarves, hand warmers, lip balm and other items.

The CNA Summer Crew will soon be making appearances around Newfoundland and Labrador; along with that come more CNA prizes, contests, giveaways and the CNA mascot, Nanuk.
