College making H1N1 preparations

8/7/2009 2:37:28 PM

College of the North Atlantic is actively monitoring the current and potential impacts of the H1N1 flu virus for our college community.

In order to be appropriately prepared for a potential escalation in H1N1 this fall – the college is actively working on a plan to address a range of elements dealing with preparedness and response. As part of this we have been working with various government departments.

This plan will, of course, be provincial in scope – in order to address all geographic regions of college operations. The plan is currently in draft form and will be finalized for roll-out and implementation for the beginning of our fall semester and the return of students and faculty.

We will be preparing information kits that will be provided to our students upon their return in September. These will include FAQ sheets about the H1N1 flu virus, hand sanitizers, website information and other awareness materials that will help educate our student body.

College staff, faculty and students are welcome to read the H1N1 flu virus information posted to the Emergency Preparation website located at www.cna.nl.ca/emerprep/h1n1.asp.
