International Development Week 2001 - February 4th to 10th, 2001

International Development week is celebrated each year to highlight the role and activities of Canadian men and women active in the field of international cooperation. This year is takes place from February 4-10.

For the 11th consecutive year, several Canadian organizations involved in international development are joining the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) in celebrating this week of awareness and activities.

College of the North Atlantic has been involved in international development for many years. In recognition of International Development Week, the college is hosting several events throughout the province:

St. John's:

The International Office at the Prince Philip Drive Campus is having an Open House (February 5th to 9th) to encourage students and staff to stop by for a coffee and learn about what the college is doing in the field of international development and what opportunities may be available to them. Each day there will be refreshments available and a chance to win a few interesting prizes, so feel free to stop by and chat with the staff.


Burin:

To celebrate" International Week" in early February the Burin campus will be hosting an "International Night" festivity to be held on Saturday 6:30 p.m. Feb. 10.

International Night is a cultural awareness activity designed to provide residents of the Burin Peninsula with exposure to the richness of our diverse cultural experiences. Please consider this as your invitation to a ' fun winter's night' on the Burin Peninsula Let us know if you will be attending by Friday, Feb. 2, 2001.
