6/1/2007 2:39:47 PM
Premier Danny Williams will open the 2nd International Symposium on Oil and Gas Resources in Western Newfoundland at 7 p.m. on June 5 at the Glynmill Inn in Corner Brook. Premier Williams says, “This symposium provides a wonderful forum for sharing information and building on the industry’s momentum in this part of the province.”
Sharon McLennon, chair of the Greater Corner Brook Board of Trade’s Oil and Gas Committee and business development coordinator at College of the North Atlantic says, “Premier Williams, Finance Minister Tom Marshall, Natural Resources Minister Kathy Dunderdale, and the Regional Office of Industry Trade and Rural Renewal have been very supportive, sponsoring the event to ensure its success and also providing valuable human resources to aid in organizing the technical program and field trips.”
McLennon says, “The attendance and involvement of the Premier speaks to the level of confidence the Premier and his cabinet have in what we are doing as a Board of Trade in leading this industry initiative in Western Newfoundland.”
College of North Atlantic is a Silver Sponsor for the full event as well as sponsor for the Technical and Business Program’s Breakfast on June 6, at which Minister Kathy Dunderdale, Department of Industry, Trade and Rural Development, will be addressing symposium delegates.
“While we encourage local business people to attend the entire symposium,” says McLennon, “there will be special event tickets available to each dining event.”
