SubC Imaging, a world leader in underwater imaging solutions, is marking a major milestone: 15 years of innovation, growth, and global success.
Adam Rowe.
Founded by College of the North Atlantic (CNA) graduates Chad Collett and Adam Rowe, SubC has become a powerhouse in ocean technology, proving that homegrown talent can compete on the world stage.
SubC’s commitment to hiring CNA students and graduates has been a driving force behind its success.
As Vice President Rowe explained, “Hiring students and recent graduates has been a key part of SubC’s growth. They bring fresh perspectives, strong technical skills, and an eagerness to learn - qualities that are especially valuable in an industry that is constantly evolving.”
The company’s deep connection to CNA has fueled a cycle of innovation, mentorship, and career development. Many SubC employees, such as Marcus Morrissey, started their careers as students gaining hands-on experience.
Now, Morrissey is in a key sales role, using the skills he first developed at CNA to help clients worldwide solve complex challenges with SubC’s cutting-edge technology.
Marcus Morrissey.
“My CNA education gave me the technical foundation to succeed,” Morrissey said. “But more importantly, it taught me how to think critically and approach problem-solving in a structured way. That skill set has been invaluable in every stage of my career.”
The company’s success story is a testament to the power of investing in local talent. Just last year, SubC was recognized for its contributions to innovation with CNA’s prestigious
Alumni Acclaim Award, further reinforcing its role as an industry leader and mentor to the next generation.
As SubC marks 15 years, it is also sending a strong message to employers across Newfoundland and Labrador: hiring students and graduates is not just about filling roles - it is about driving industry forward.
“Providing opportunities for skilled graduates to build their careers here strengthens our entire sector,” said Rowe. “It is an investment in the future of Newfoundland and Labrador as a leader in ocean technology.”
