STEPHENVILLE, NL – College of the North Atlantic (CNA) has been welcoming students and faculty for the past few weeks across its 17 campuses throughout Newfoundland and Labrador (NL) for the 2018-19 academic year.

In order to get to know their surroundings, as well as interact with classmates, faculty and CNA support staff, new and returning students orientation activities have been organized at each campus throughout the month of September. This year’s Orientation theme is “Your Future Starts Here.”

Every campus in the province has been hosting location-specific events, such as scavenger hunts, bingo, pizza parties and bonfires to name a few of the many activities, as well as province-wide contests for prize pack giveaways.

“We are excited to welcome our new and returning students with a slate of events across the province,” said Bruce Hollett, CNA’s President and CEO. “CNA is poised to help students of all ages come together to prepare themselves for future careers. We strive to provide excellence in post-secondary programming and a number of initiatives to make the students’ experience even more rewarding. Working together, I look forward to another successful year for our students at CNA.”

Orientation 2018-19 is made possible by members of the NL business community. For a third year, the Provincial Presenting Sponsor is TD Insurance Meloche Monnex (TD). CNA uses this funding to support activities province-wide, including: providing registration bags for first-year students, as well as an iPad for each campus to be used as a grand prize at signature events. TD also actively contributes to events and activities for CNA faculty, staff, alumni, and students throughout the year.

Campus Gold-level sponsors include Nortrax (Placentia), Eastern Edge and Reddy Kilowatt Credit Unions (Prince Philip Drive and Ridge Road campuses in St. John’s), and Tim Hortons (Seal Cove).

Additional products and prizes have also been donated for orientation activities by numerous other local businesses across the province.
